Noel Paul Stookey
Headlines Revels RiverSing
September 22

Noel Paul Stookey, longtime member of the legendary group Peter, Paul and Mary, is set to headline the 10th anniversary Revels RiverSing, a free, open-air celebration of the Autumnal Equinox, scheduled for Sunday, September 22.

The night of music, song and celebration will bid farewell to summer and welcome the fall along the banks of the Charles River in Cambridge. As always, this year's RiverSing will include family festivities in Harvard Square, a puppet-filled parade to the Charles that all can join, along with communal singing, music, and more along the parklands by the Weeks Bridge.

In addition to Stookey, the evening will feature the Revels Singers, sax great Stan Strickland, a great folk band, guest soloists, Actors' Shakespeare Project, Cambridge Poet Populist Lo Galluccio, acrobats and street performers from Moonship Productions, Sara Peatie's Puppeteers Cooperative, a fabulous "honk" band, and the magical, larger-than-life butterflies of Gabriel Q. Revels music director George Emlen will lead the festivities joined by Artistic Director Patrick Swanson.

The evening's schedule is as follows:

5:00 p.m. -- Gather in Winthrop Park for family festivities including face-painting, hula-hooping, a “honk” band and more!

5:45 p.m. -- Parade to the River (all are invited to join in)

6:00 p.m. -- The singing along the Charles begins!

The public is encouraged to arrive early and bring a picnic to enjoy along the River.

Revels RiverSing is supported, in part, by the Harvard Square Business Association, the Cambridge Arts Council, the Charles River Conservancy (co-founder), and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
