F.U.D.G.E Theatre Presents
"The Wedding Singer"
July 24 - August 1

F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company will present the recent Broadway musical, "The Wedding Singer," from July 24 - August 1. The production features a book by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, with music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. Performances will take place at The Arsenal Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street in Watertown.

Based on the 1998 Adam Sandler film of the same name, the musical opened on Broadway in April of 2006, picking up five Tony Award nominations including one as Best Musical.

In "The Wedding Singer," the time is 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Heart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party, until his own fiancee dumps him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. Only trouble is Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

The F.U.D.G.E. cast features Chris Bott, Kira Cowan, Samuel Moscoso, Justin Colombo, Trevor Croft, Sara Brodsky, Paige MacLean and Katie Preisig.

Joe DeMita, F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company’s President as well as the director of this production, commented, "We are very excited to be producing 'The Wedding Singer' this summer. Our last production in the Arsenal Center was the Boston Premiere of 'Bare,' so this will be quite a different experience for our audiences there. While the musical is based on the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore film of the same name, those who are familiar with it will certainly see some major differences (aside from the singing and dancing), while at the same time experiencing their favorite parts of the movie live on stage."
