Shakespeare Now! Presents "Macbeth"

Shakespeare Now! Theatre Company’s production of "Macbeth," directed by the award-winning Steven Maler, will be presented from November 2 - 20 in Tower Auditorium at Mass. College of Art, 621 Huntington Avenue in Boston.

The production is expected to draw an estimated 5,000 Massachusetts students, many of whom will be experiencing Shakespeare for the first time. To accommodate the young audience, all performances are at 10:00 a.m., with one special evening performance on Saturday, November 14, at 8:00 p.m.

Linda Lowy, Shakespeare Now!’s Founding Artistic Director, commented, “Steve Maler brings an exciting, contemporary vision to his Shakespeare every summer on Boston Common. His imaginative direction makes Shakespeare accessible to audiences of all ages. Our students will be on the edge of their seats with this gripping show.”

"Macbeth" features Dan Roach in the title role. Roach starred in Maler’s Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s "The Comedy of Errors" last summer. Lady Macbeth will be played by Kami Rushell Smith who was featured in Actors’ Shakespeare Project’s "Much Ado About Nothing."
