Chamber Theatre Presents "ENCORE!!"
At Berklee Performance Center May 30

Boston’s noted Chamber Theatre Productions, now in its 31st season of presenting theater for young audiences, returns to the Berklee Performance Center on Friday, May 30, to close out the company's spring tour of "ENCORE!!" Performance time is 10:30 a.m.

"ENCORE!!" dramatizes five famous short stories by renowned writers Edgar Allan Poe, Washington Irving, W. W. Jacobs, Guy de Maupassant and Mark Twain. During the past season, Chamber Theatre presented "ENCORE!!" in 146 cities across 40 states.

The program at Berklee will include: “The Tell Tale Heart,” by Edgar Allan Poe, bringing audiences under floorboards and into the paranoid mind of a murderer; “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” featuring Washington Irving’s Headless Horsemen terrorizing upstate New York in 1790; “The Monkey’s Paw” (at left) W. W. Jacob’s chilling cautionary tale of a cursed object; Guy de Maupassant’s famous “The Necklace;” and Mark Twain’s comical outing, “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras Country."

Under the direction of Producing Director Spring Sirkin, Chamber Theatre Productions has grown into the largest tour of its kind. Sirkin's own career extends from Boston to Broadway and London. In 1996, she won a Tony Award for producing Terrence McNally’s "Master Class." She has just been nominated for a Tony as one of the producers of the new musical "Passing Strange."
