Apollinaire Theatre Company
Presents
"The Thugs"

Next on the schedule at Apollinaire Theatre Company is "The Thugs" by Adam Bock. Part quirky comedy of contemporary anxiety, part drama of workplace paranoia, "The Thugs" satirizes the hellish details of office life.

Performances are set for October 31 - November 30 at Chelsea Theatre Works, 189 Winnisimmet Street in Chelsea. Performances will be followed by an Office Party themed reception with the actors in the Gallery.

In "The Thugs," group of temps is working in an isolated room on the 9th floor of a downtown law firm.  People in the building are dying, disappearing, perhaps even being murdered -- or maybe they just didn’t come in today. Will the temps unlock the secrets that lurk in the hidden crevices of their workplace, or is fearing the unknown just the safest way to avoid what’s right in front of their eyes.

"The Thugs" received its critically acclaimed 2006 world premiere at the Soho Rep in New York, winning an OBIE Award for outstanding playwriting. Playwright Adam Bock followed "The Thugs" with a second “office play” in 2007, "The Receptionist," which will receive its local premiere in December at Trinity Rep in Providence.

In addition to staging plays at the recently restored theater in the Chelsea Theatre Works, Apollinaire Theatre Company (formerly TheatreZone) offers New England's only bilingual free summer theater in the park. Less than five miles from downtown Boston, their historic theater building is located at the center of the burgeoning Chelsea arts community.
