Citizens Bank Open Access Theater
Offers Complimentary Tickets
To Social Service Organizations

Trinity Rep in Providence recently introduced the Citizens Bank Open Access Theater program, generously underwritten by the Citizens Bank Foundation.

Trinity Rep's Citizens Bank Open Access Theater will offer non-profit social services and community organizations in Rhode Island free tickets to attend dress rehearsal performances during the 2006-2007 Season. The goal of the program is to facilitate access to live theater for those who might not have the financial means to come to Trinity Rep.

The program was launched in December with the theater's production of "A Christmas Carol," where hundreds of free tickets were made available to community service organizations to allow groups to attend the holiday favorite.  Among the local groups attending were: Amos House, Anita Jackson House, Athena's Circle, Big Sisters of Rhode Island, Channel One; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, John Hope Settlement House, Kennedy-Donovan Center, New Urban Arts, Providence Community Health Center, Sojourner House, The Genesis Center, The House of Hope, The Welcome House of South County, Tomorrow Fund, Turning the Corner and the Walnut Street Center.

Curt Columbus, Trinity Rep's Artistic Director, commented, "I am thrilled to announce this new partnership with Citizens Bank to create the Citizens Bank Open Access Theater. Through their generosity, thousands of Rhode Islanders who might not have the means to attend our shows will have the opportunity to share in the excitement that only live theater can bring."

Jeanne Cola, Senior Vice President, Director of Community Relations at Citizens Bank of Rhode Island, added, "Citizens is excited to make the arts available to all community members."

The program is open to all non-profit social services and community organizations in Rhode Island. Requests may be mailed to: Open Access Theater Request, Trinity Repertory Company, 201 Washington Street, Providence, RI 02903 or faxed to: 401751-5577, attn: Open Access Theater Request.
