Shore Music Theatre Performances October 24 - November 19 Plus . . . You Could Be Part Of The Show! North Shore Music Theatre will conclude its 2006 musical season with the regional theater premiere of "Hairspray," Broadway's "Welcome To The 60's" hit. NSMT is the first regional theater in the country to create an original production of this 1960’s musical comedy. The winner of 8 Tony Awards, "Hairspray" features a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman. Performances at the Beverly theatre-in-the-round are October 24 – November 19. Based on the 1988 John Waters film, "Hairspray" takes audiences back to 1960’s Baltimore to join heroine Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big dreams and even bigger hair. She'll do whatever it takes to claim a spot on a popular TV dance show, win the heart of hunky Link Larkin, and turn the town upside down in her efforts to racially integrate television. As a bonus, one lucky patron will have the chance to win a walk-on role for the performance on November 9, courtesy of Danversbank. No audition is required to enter. Simply visit any Danversbank branch office for an entry form to win the coveted role. Other prizes include an autographed cast poster and tickets to the show. Winners will be selected on October 27. The walk-on
role winner will be instructed to report to the NSMT Costume Shop to
be fitted for an authentic 60’s style "Hairspray" costume
with plenty of time to prepare for the November 9th performance. (To
