Avner The Eccentric's
"Exceptions To Gravity"
At Lyric November 24 - December 23

On the heels of its widely-received productions of "1776" and "9 Parts of Desire," The Lyric Stage Company of Boston will present the one-man show, "Avner The Eccentric's Exceptions To Gravity" featuring Avner Eisenberg as its holiday attraction. "Exceptions To Gravity" plays November 24 - December 23 with both afternoon and evening performances.

Often compared to a modern-day Charlie Chaplain, Avner is perhaps best
known as the "lovable holy man" in the romantic comedy "Jewel of The Nile."

A master clown inhabiting a world that celebrates the amazing cussedness of ordinary things, Avner weaves a spell of poetic simplicity in a show of hilarious predicaments. He battles his environment, solving problems in ways that have to be seen to be believed. At one point he devours a plate of paper napkins with the delicacy of Chaplin savoring his boot. He easily defies the barriers of language and culture with his mastery of physical comedy.

Called "A clown for the thinking man" by New York Magazine, Avner has won juried awards at the Edinburgh Festival, Leipzig Laugh Festival, St. Gervais International Theatre Festival, Barcelona International Clown Festival and the International Circus Festival in Monaco, among others, and has performed repeatedly on four continents. His "Exceptions To Gravity" has been a hit both on Broadway and abroad.

In addition to his stage performances, he teaches master classes in clowning and eccentric performing in the U.S. and Europe. His silent theatre skills are often used as a therapeutic tool for students and professionals in healthcare, counseling and theatre.
