Huntington Announces Tony Nominated Productions
For 2006-2007 Season

The plays "Rabbit Hole" and "Well," nominated collectively for seven 2006 Tony Awards, have been added to the Huntington Theatre Company's 2006-2007 25th Anniversary Season, completing its seven-play subscription series.

"Rabbit Hole," by Boston-born playwright David Lindsay-Abaire (author of the hits "Fuddy Meers," "Kimberly Akimbo" and the pre-Broadway production of “High Fidelity” coming to The Colonial Theatre in September), is the emotional story of a family devastated by an untimely death. The Huntington production will run November 3 to December 3 at the Boston University Theatre. Termed "startling, heartfelt and remarkable" by The Associated Press, the show received five Tony nominations this year including Best Play.

Playwright/actress Lisa Kron (left) will repeat her Tony-nominated role (Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play) in her autobiographical comedy, "Well," playing March 9 to April 8, 2007, at the Boston University Theatre.

"Well" follows Kron's attempts to present a play about her family's issues of illness and wellness, only to be thwarted by her mother's constant interruptions that eventually wreak havoc with both the carefully constructed narrative and the other cast members. The New York Times said Kron has "an inspired gift for spinning the depths of personal mortification into high-flying comedy."

Directors for both shows will be announced at a later date. These plays join the Huntington's previously announced season offerings: the pre-Broadway production of August Wilson's "Radio Golf" (September 8 to October 8); the world premiere of "Mauritius" by Theresa Rebeck (October 6 to November 12); "The Cherry Orchard," starring 2006 Tony nominee Kate Burton and directed by Huntington Artistic Director Nicholas Martin (January 5 to February 4, 2007); the world premiere of "Persephone" by Noah Haidle, also directed by Martin (March 30 to May 6, 2007); and a revival of David Rabe's anti-war classic, "Streamers" (May 18 to June 17, 2007).

Season subscriptions are available by calling the box office at 617-266-0800. Individual performance tickets go on sale in August. For more information about the theater’s 2006-2007 season, visit www.huntingtontheatre.org.
