Backstage Web Log
At North Shore Music Theatre
Gives You An Inside Look

Ever wondered what rehearsals are really like?  What actors do backstage when they're not performing?  How hard is it to learn a dance combination or new song?

You can gain insight into these questions and much more when you log on to North Shore Music Theatre’s new blog. Short for web log, the blog provides an ever-changing outlet for the public to experience first hand exactly what goes on behind the scenes, directly from the visiting artists who are living it.

For "Singin’ in the Rain," NSMT turned to Associate Director/Choreographer and cast member Jonathan Stahl to write the inaugural blog entries.  From rehearsals to performances, Jonathan will reveal all, with the photos to prove it.

In one recent entry about meeting the cast on the first day of rehearsal, Jonathan wrote, “Since I assisted in the audition/casting process, I knew who everyone was, but they did not all feel as acquainted with me as I did with them. Looking at someone's headshot and resume discussing how they might fit into a show makes you feel like you know them better than you really do.”

To follow Jonathan throughout his stay at North Shore Music Theatre, log on to http://nsmtblog.blogspot.com.  The blog can also be accessed through NSMT’s website at www.nsmt.org.  When "Singin’ in the Rain" closes, look for a new voice from the cast of "Cinderella" to continue the NSMT blog.

Operating since 1955, NSMT has evolved into the largest non-profit producing theater in New England, with approximately 350,000 patrons annually. Their blog is just one more way in which they are staying up-to-the-minute while maintaining good contact with their patrons.
