"Seven Rabbits On A Pole"
Receives New England Premiere
At Stoneham Theatre

Stoneham Theatre is set to present the New England Premiere of "Seven Rabbits On A Pole" from March 2 - 19. The second in John C. Picardi's ten-play cycle about the 20th Century Italian-American experience in Massachusetts, "Seven Rabbits" received rave reviews when it premiered off-Broadway at Urban Stages in 2004.

Set in the midst of the Great Depression, "Seven Rabbits" is the compelling story of an Italian immigrant family living on a vegetable farm south of Boston in the 1930s. The arrival of a meddling neighbor and a stranger selling rabbits sets off an emotional storm that exposes secrets and alters lives.

A Quincy native and University of Massachusetts graduate, John C. Picardi is currently Playwright in Residence at Urban Stages. "The Sweepers," the first play in his series, debuted off-Broadway in 2002 and played six regional theatres across the US, including a successful engagement at Stoneham Theatre,. The third play in Picardi’s series is scheduled to premiere at Urban Stages this fall.

The cast of "Seven Rabbits On A Pole" includes Robert Antonelli, Robyn Elizabeth Lee, Cheryl McMahon, Andrew Miramontes, Barry M. Press and Timothy J. Smith. Robert J. Cronin directs.
