Kids Get Into The Act At Lyric Stage

Spring Children's Theatre Includes
"Dr. Dolittle," "The Story of Purim," "Peter Pan" and "Snow White"

Once Upon a Time and Lyric Stage Company will present four original participatory children's shows this Spring including "Dr. Dolittle," "The Story of Purim," "Peter Pan" and "Snow White." Although appropriate for all ages, the 50-minute performances are aimed at children 2 – 8 years of age. Performances are Saturday and Sunday mornings at 11 a.m.

Each Once Upon a Time production is interactive; children are encouraged to volunteer to play a part, are provided with costumes, and are then asked to come on stage at the appropriate moment.  This Spring, kids will be invited to become everything from talking animals in "Dr. Dolittle" to the dwarfs in "Snow White." All audience members will be encouraged to get involved in telling the story.

Lyric's Children's Theatre schedule is as follows:

"Dr. Dolittle" – February 25, 26 and March 5 at 11 a.m.
An enchanting story about a magical veterinarian who can talk to the animals.  Kids will play many different animals and the entire audience will help Dr. Dolittle on his journey.

"The Story of Purim" – March 11 and 12 at 11 a.m.
The beautiful and courageous Queen Esther must save her people from the evil plans of the king's advisor.  Kids’ roles include the contestants vying to become queen and Esther’s brave uncle, Mordecai. The entire audience will cheer Esther and hiss the villain!

"Peter Pan" – April 1, 2 and 9 at 11 a.m.
Join the "boy who never grew up" through his adventures in Neverland.  Kids will play the Lost Boys and Girls, Never-elves, pirates and the hungry crocodile as Peter and Tinkerbell tangle with the always-challenging Captain Hook.

"Snow White" – May 13, 14 and 21 at 11 a.m.
Snow White, still “The fairest of them all,” must hide from the jealous queen.  After the queen feeds her a poisoned apple, it's Prince Charming who comes to her rescue with a kiss.  Kids will be invited to play the dwarfs and forest animals, and the entire audience will help Snow White escape the clutches of the queen.
