Jose Mateo's Ballet Theatre
Presents
2006 Nutcracker Tour

From December 8 - 24, Jose Mateo's Ballet Theatre will present its 2006 Nutcracker Tour in three locations in Eastern Massachusetts.

As part of its 20th anniversary, the company will bring its original production of "The Nutcracker" to local audiences at The J. Everett Collins Center in Andover (December 8 - 10), The Spingold Theatre at Brandeis University in Waltham (December 15 - 17) and The Duxbury Performing Arts Center (December 21 - 24).

Inspired by Tchaikovsky's glorious score and choreographed by Artistic Director Jose Mateo, the Ballet Theatre's original production of "The Nutcracker" has become a longstanding holiday tradition for audiences over the past two decades.

According to Mateo, "Our 'Nutcracker' is unlike any other in that it was created with a devoted faithfulness to Tchaikovsky's ever-so-beautiful score and all its enhancements over the years have yielded a magical ballet as festive and colorful as the beloved music."

He added, "In support of the organization's mission, the 20th anniversary tour gives us the opportunity to introduce our version of the holiday classic to new audiences and nurture relationships with these communities for future programming beyond our performances in Cambridge."

More than 200 children, ages 6 - 18, from throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, will join the Ballet Theatre's production as Party Children, Mice, Polichinelles, Cherubs and Angels as well as in the lead role of Clara.
