"Sylvia" Final Production
Of Cape Playhouse Season

The Cape Playhouse will conclude its 80th anniversary season with "Sylvia," playing August 29 - September 9. In the A. R. Gurney comedy, Sylvia is a foul-mouthed dog who's taken in by a Manhattan couple and immediately starts causing trouble.

Directed by Pamela Hunt, the production stars popular daytime actress Linda Dano (left) as the female half of the Manhattan couple. Sylvia is played by Nancy Anderson. The cast is completed by Sam Freed and Patrick Quinn.

Dano received the 1993 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress for her work as Felicia Grant on NBC's "Another World." During the late 1980s, Dano balanced "Another World" with her work co-hosting the Lifetime Channel's daytime talk show "Attitudes." In 1999, she signed an unprecedented contract with ABC-TV to play the same character on all four of its daytime dramas. This past season, she was seen in a guest-starring role on "Desperate Housewives."

Nancy Anderson was nominated for a Drama Desk Award as Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her performance in "Fanny Hill." She was nominated for her first Drama Desk Award as Outstanding Actress in a Musical for "Jolson and Co." On Broadway, she appeared in the recent revival of "Wonderful Town."

Patrick's Quinn's Broadway credits span four decades, from "Fiddler on the Roof," "Oh Coward" and "Lend Me A Tenor" to "Beauty and the Beast," the revival of "The Sound of Music" and the 2001 production of "A Class Act" (in which he appeared with Nancy Anderson).

Sam Freed appeared on Broadway in the revival of "Candide." He has also been seen on the CBS comedy "Kate and Allie" as well as "Law and Order" and its two spin-offs.

The Cape Cod Playhouse is located at 820 Main Street (Route 6A) in Dennis. For tickets and information, call the box office toll free at 877-385-3911 or visit www.capeplayhouse.com.
