Trinity Rep Kicks Off 2006-2007 Season
With Stage Door Soiree

Trinity Rep in Providence has announced that their season kick-off event – the Stage Door Soirée -- will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 8, at Trinity’s Pell Chafee Performance Center (87 Empire Street in Providence). 

NBC 10’s Gene Valicenti will emcee the evening, which will be highlighted by a live auction with celebrity auctioneers Karen Adams of WPRI Channel 12 and Mayor David N. Cicilline. The event is co-chaired by Bill & Helena Foulkes, John & Gail Palumbo and Paula Vogel & Anne Fausto-Sterling.

Sponsored by Rhode Island Monthly, NBC 10 and Blackstone Caterers, the event will also serve as a welcome to the theater's new Artistic Director Curt Columbus.
 
Since its founding in 1964, Trinity Repertory Company has become one of the most respected regional theaters in the country. Featuring an acclaimed resident acting company, Trinity Rep presents a balance of world premiere, contemporary, and classic works. In its 42-year history, the theater has presented 54 world premieres, mounted national and international tours, and, through its graduate-level theater arts conservatory, trained hundreds of new actors and directors.

The theater's 43rd season includes "Cherry Orchard" by Anton Chekhov, translated and directed by Curt Columbus; "Dublin Carol" by Conor McPherson; "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder; "A Delicate Balance" by Edward Albee; "The Fantasticks" with music by Harvey Schmidt, book and lyrics by Tom Jones; and "The Clean House" by Sarah Ruhl.
