Broadway Bound "High Fidelity"
Goes On Sale At Colonial

The new musical "High Fidelity" will have its world premiere at The Colonial Theatre this fall, with performances beginning September 26. The production is scheduled to open on Broadway three months later.

Based on Nick Hornsby's best-selling novel (later to become a popular film starring John Cusack), "High Fidelity has music by Tom Kitt, lyrics by Amanda Green, a book by South Boston native David Lindsay-Abaire and is directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie.

The romantic comedy details the adventures of Rob, a record store owner who knows almost everything about pop music, and almost nothing about how to hang onto a girl. Rob's love life, already a broken record of heartache, drops off the charts completely when he gets dumped by Laura -- all of which sets him up for one of the Top 5 romantic comebacks ever.

Will Chase (left), whose numerous stage credits include the Broadway productions of "Aida," "Lennon," "The Full Monty" and "Miss Saigon," will star as Rob.

Director Walter Bobbie is a three-time Tony nominee, winning the award as Best Director of the long-running revival of "Chicago." He directed the stage adaptation of Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" and the Broadway revivals of "Sweet Charity" and "On The Twentieth Century."

The producing team also brings an impressive list of credits to the project: Jeffrey Seller ("Rent," "Avenue Q" and Baz Luhrman's "La Boheme"), Robyn Goodman ("Avenue Q," "Steel Magnolias," "Barefoot In The Park," "Metamorphoses" and "Altar Boyz") and Kevin McCollum ("Rent," "Avenue Q," "White Christmas" and last season's hit musical "The Drowsy Chaperone").
