Blue Man Group
Makes "Waves"
With Boston Children's Museum

"Blue Man Group - Making Waves," a national touring exhibit created by the Boston Children's Museum and Blue Man Group, will premiere at the Boston Children's Museum on September 22, 2006.

Designed to bring together science and art, the 1,500 square foot exhibit will take the whole family through a multi-sensory exploration of sound that provides an opportunity to play together while discovering the fun of music. The exhibit is supported by Harman/Becker Automotive Systems and powered by JBL®.

On stage, Blue Man is one part inquisitive child, one part trickster, and one part superhero on a journey of discovery. Throughout "Blue Man Group - Making Waves," families are encouraged to learn, play and explore with the same curiosity as the renowned blue-headed performing artists.

Lou Casagrande, President and CEO of Boston Children's Museum commented, “It's been really great for Boston Children's Museum to be part of a creative collaboration with Blue Man Group and the sound engineers at JBL. The exhibit is a wonderful mix of offbeat humor, good science and great opportunities for families to play and learn together.”

Co-founder of Blue Man Group, Chris Wink added, “After years of being able to express ourselves creatively on stage, it has become increasingly important to us to develop experiences that encourage and expand the creative development of others -- particularly children and their parents.  We really appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this project with the Boston Children's Museum.”

At the Slide-u-lum, Build-u-lum, Sand Drum and Theramin, children will have an opportunity to see, feel and create sound.  At the PVC Station visitors of all ages will have a chance to play the unique Blue Man Group instruments while learning how sound works. The experience culminates in the Surround Sound Theater where engineering genius combines with a short musical piece by Blue Man Group to illustrate the elements of sound.

Boston Children's Museum exists to help children understand and enjoy the world in which they live.  The private, non-profit, educational institution is recognized internationally as a research and development center setting the pace for children's exhibitions, educational programs and curriculum.

Blue Man Group is best known for its wildly popular theatrical shows and concerts, which combine music, comedy and multimedia theatrics to produce a totally unique form of entertainment.  In addition to their recording projects and stage shows in 7 cities around the world, Blue Man Group has also ventured into film and TV scoring (most recently the animated feature "Robots"), commercial campaigns (such as Intel), and television programs (like the recurring storyline in “Arrested Development”).  This fall, Blue Man Group will be hitting the road again in their How To Be A MegaStar Tour 2.0.

Following the premiere at Boston Children's Museum "Blue Man Group - Making Waves" will visit Chicago, Miami, St. Louis and Grand Rapids among other markets.
