True Colors: Out Youth Theater
To Hold Auditions

The Theater Offensive's True Colors: Out Youth Theater Troupe is seeking talented, motivated, and committed individuals between the ages of 14 and 22 interested in creating and performing an original theater piece set to tour schools and community organizations throughout Massachusetts. In the past, the troupe has included diverse artists, including actors, dancers, writers, visual artists, and musicians. Troupe members have ranged in skills from budding artists to seasoned veterans.

Youths age 14-22 may call to schedule auditions and interviews for Tuesday September 6, or Thursday, September 8. All sessions will be held from 6 to 9 PM at the Cloud Place (629 Boylston Street, Boston, across the street from the Boston Public Library). Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, September 13, and Thursday, September 15.

Performers are not required to present prepared audition pieces, but may share a two to three minute performance piece (monologue, spoken word, dance, music piece, or song) if they wish. Auditions will be conducted in small groups, and will consist of a combination of collaborative improvisation and individual expression. Non-performers are encouraged to bring samples of their work to the interviews (stories, poems, essays, recordings, art portfolios, etc.).

For more information contact The Theater Offensive's Director of Education, Brenda Cotto-Escalera, at 617-621-6090 or truecolors@thetheateroffensive.org.
