Tony Award Winning
Billy Crystal
Brings “700 Sundays” to Boston

Broadway in Boston has announced that Billy Crystal will bring “700 Sundays,” his phenomenally successful Tony Award-winning one-man show, to Boston for a limited two week run at The Opera House. Performance dates are October 18 - 29. Written and performed by Crystal, the production is directed by two time Tony winner Des McAnuff.

"700 Sundays” takes audiences on an autobiographical journey in which Crystal plays the many characters who have influenced his life. Over two acts, the intimate and heartfelt show deals with his youth, growing up in the jazz world of Manhattan, his teenage years and finally, adulthood.

In its opening week on Broadway, “700 Sundays” broke the house box office record for the highest weekly gross at the Broadhurst Theatre. It then continued to top its own record every subsequent week of the run. During the show’s final week (ending May 22, 2005), “700 Sundays” earned the highest gross, not only at the Broadhurst, but for any non-musical production in Broadway history.

Billy Crystal has built one of the most versatile careers in the entertainment industry, achieving success as a performer, writer, director and producer on stage, film and television. His impressive list of credits ranges from incredible success as a “Saturday Night Live” cast member to television’s ground-breaking “Soap,” HBO specials, "When Harry Met Sally,” “City Slickers,” “The Princess Bride,” “Mr. Saturday Night,” co-hosting all eight “Comic Relief” benefits and serving as one of the funniest and most popular hosts of the annual Academy Awards broadcasts.

In addition to receiving the 2005 Tony Award for Special Theatrical Experience, “700 Sundays” also won both the 2005 Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Outstanding Solo performance.

Broadway in Boston members and subscribers will be contacted shortly with information on when and how to purchase tickets. The complete performance schedule and a public on-sale date will be announced soon.
