Cape Playhouse Completes Season
With "Don't Dress For Dinner"

The Cape Playhouse in Dennis will present Marc Camoletti’s comedy "Don’t Dress for Dinner," the sixth and final production of its 79th Season, from August 29 through September 10.

Staged by James Brennan, who previously directed the playhouse's acclaimed production of "The Dining Room" and last season's comedy "Noises Off," the production will star three-time Tony nominee Dee Hoty (left) ("Footloose," "Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public" and "The Will Rogers Follies"). Boston audiences will remember Hoty from her performances in "Mamma Mia!" in two engagements in Boston.

The cast also includes: Kevin Spirtas, "Days of Our Lives" villain, who last season understudied Hugh Jackman in "The Boy from Oz;" Sam Freed ("Candide," "Torch Song Trilogy") who had a recurring role on the sitcom "Kate and Allie;" Mark Leydorf, who recently performed at the Portland Stage in "Arcadia" and "A Christmas Carol" as well as the Las Vegas production of "Mamma Mia!;" Colleen Quinlan, who has been seen locally at the Huntington Theatre in "Betty's Summer Vacation" and "The Rose Tattoo;" and Lenise Sorén, who wrote and performed her own written word/slam in "Pieces (of Ass)" Off-Broadway.

Set in the living room of a converted barn in the French countryside, "Don't Dress For Dinner" blends together all the ingredients for the perfect French farce: adultery, swapped identities, a romantic weekend gone horribly awry and gourmet cooking.

Set designer Richard Chambers, a two time recipient of the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Set Design, will design the September Off-Broadway premiere of Ronan Noone’s "The Blowin’ of Baile Gall."
