"Cavalia" Adds 7 Boston Performances

In response to overwhelming demand, the "Cavalia" multimedia equestrian spectacle opening September 7 under the big top at Suffolk Downs has extended its run through September 18. President and artistic director Normand Latourelle announced the additional performances.

After triumphantly touring the West Coast for over a year and drawing close to 1 million spectators in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Phoenix, San Diego, Santa Monica, Toronto and Montréal, "Cavalia: A Magical Encounter Between Horse and Man" intends to present Boston audiences with a profoundly poetic experience.

The production involves 50 horses, 32 artists, riders, acrobats, aerialists, and dancers, as well as musicians, a vocalist, famous European ‘horse-whisperer’ Frédéric Pignon and his wife, world-class rider Magali Delgado.

Created by Normand Latourelle, one of the founders of Quebec’s famed Cirque du Soleil, and directed by Érick Villeneuve, "Cavalia" offers a fascinating glimpse into the age-old bond between humans and horses in a grand-scale orchestration of equestrian arts, multimedia, dance and acrobatics on a 160-ft. wide stage.

Tickets for the additional performances, September 13 – 18, are on sale now along with seating for the originally scheduled performances, September 7 – 11. (VIP) packages which include hors-d’oeuvres, a tour of the stables, free parking and a special souvenir are also available.

As noted above, "Cavalia" will be presented at Suffolk Downs (junction of Routes 1A & 145). For information and reservations, call 1-866-999-8111 or visit www.cavalia.net.
