"Romeo & Juliet"
Tours Boston's Parks

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company will bring its production of “Romeo & Juliet,” Shakespeare’s timeless love story set against a backdrop of urban warfare between rival groups, to five Boston neighborhoods in its third annual “Tour of the Parks” program.

Performances, free and open to the public, are scheduled from July 29 - August 6 as follows:

Langone Park Patio, The North End

Saturday, August 6, 1 PM
Franklin Park / Elma Lewis Playhouse in the Park, Roxbury

To enhance and complement the performances, free educational community outreach workshops will be presented by the Wang Center’s Suskind Young At Arts Program at area summer camps, library branches and community centers. A full schedule will be available shortly.

Each one-hour participatory workshop will feature information and activities designed to give those new to Shakespeare insight into the history, culture and language of the time.

“Romeo & Juliet” is directed by Saheem Ali and presented by Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s Apprentice Company in collaboration with the Boston Parks and Recreation Program.
