ArtsBoston Online
For Advance or Day-Of Discounts

Offers Include Tanglewood, The Berkshires,
North Shore and Ogunquit Theatres, Among Others

Culture Vultures in Boston know that The BosTix Booths in Faneuil Hall and Copley Square (left) provide one of the most economical ways to attend theater, scope out the city's dance companies and enjoy a variety of musical concerts. In addition to each booth serving as a TicketMaster outlet and full-service arts information center, one of the booth’s biggest draws has been as a half-price, same-day ticket source.

Tickets are always based on availability, however, over the past few months, on many days you could have walked away with seats to anything from “The Lion King” and “Phantom of the Opera” to “Take Me Out,” “Shear Madness,” “Falsettos” and “Blue man Group,” among others.

The booths are operated by ArtsBoston, the long established arts service and ticketing organization. For the first time, discounted tickets to performing arts events are just a click away with ArtsBoston’s new online ticketing system at artsboston.org. For almost 30 years, ArtsBoston has made it easy to see the best entertainment in Boston. Now they are making it even simpler -- with ArtsMail Online.

ArtsBoston customers have always had two options for purchasing discounted tickets: ArtsMail, a free, monthly mail order catalog offering tickets to more than 600 performing arts events annually, and, as mentioned above, the BosTix booths.

With the launch of ArtsMail Online, consumers have a single online destination to buy half-price and other discounted tickets in advance. No lines at the ticket window or forms to fill out. ArtsMail Online allows consumers to confirm immediately that they'll be getting tickets for their chosen show on the selected date.

Catherine Peterson, Executive Director of ArtsBoston commented, “We are thrilled to be able to offer discounted tickets through ArtsMail Online for our full range of member groups, from the Boston Pops to Broadway touring shows and so many other organizations that many people may not have even encountered yet. ArtsBoston is the cultural concierge for the price-conscious consumer and now all of these tickets can be accessed in one place and with just one click of the mouse!”

With a free online ArtsMail account, users can log in and view their order history, store address information, and enter to win free tickets to a variety of events. Features include the ability to search for tickets by event, producing organization, genre, date or keyword, order tickets to multiple events in the same transaction, and receive confirmation emails of their orders.

BosTix and ArtsMail enable more than 170 theatre, music and dance member groups to sell tickets that would normally go unsold. In 29 years of service, ArtsBoston has infused more than $38,500,000 back into Boston's performing arts community and sold 3,200,000 tickets to cultural events.
