"8-Track" Celebrates Sounds of the 70's

From Barry Manilow to Barry White, the hits of the 70’s will be front row center when “8-Track: The Sounds of the 70’s,” plays The Stoneham Theatre from July 7 - 24.

Conceived and directed by Rick Seeber (producer and director of more than 100 engagements of “BEEHIVE, The 60’s Musical”), “8-Track” is a flashback to the decade of platform shoes, polyester pants, peace signs and feelin’ groovy.

With four powerhouse performers and more than 50 pop hits, “8-Track” showcases the music of a variety of artists including The Carpenters, Marvin Gaye, Patti LaBelle, The Emotions, The Doobie Brothers, The Bee Gees, Helen Reddy and K. C. and The Sunshine Band. The fast-paced evening is designed to capture the social consciousness of the era while delivering a good-time vibe.

“8-Track” debuted at Milwaukee Rep in 2001 and subsequently played highly acclaimed dates in Detroit, St. Paul, Denver and Hermosa Beach. Seeber’s “Beehive” previously fanned out across the country in two national tours that visited 70 cities in addition to non-touring productions in more than two dozen cities.
