Huntington Theatre Company Artistic
Director Nicholas Martin has announced one casting
change and one casting addition for the Huntington's upcoming production
of the William Finn-James Lapine musical, “Falsettos,”
opening May 20 at the Boston University Theatre.
Geoffrey Nauffts has replaced Steven Skybell in the
role of Marvin. Nauffts is a veteran film, television and theatre
actor whose credits include films by Woody Allen, Adrian Lyne
and Rob Reiner. He was in the original
Broadway company of "A Few Good Men" and
the national touring company of "The Full Monty."
He also has appeared in New York at Second Stage, Century Theater,
Vineyard Theatre and the American Jewish Theatre,
as well as regional theatre productions at South Coast Repertory,
the New York Shakespeare Festival at Vassar, the Hudson
Theater, the Virginia Stage Company and La
Jolla Playhouse. He has also had a recurring role on HBO's
hit series “Six Feet Under.”
Additionally, 13-year-old Jacob Brandt of Newton has
been cast in the role of Jason in “Falsettos.” Brandt
has theatre credits that include: Josh Dance/Boy in "Approaching
Moomtaj" at Newton’s New Repertory Theatre;
Young Guido in "Nine;" David in "Rags;"
and Charlie Bates in "Oliver" at the Turtle
Lane Playhouse, also in Newton; and Young Prince in "Phantom
Tollbooth" and School Child in "Trumpet of
the Swan" at Boston’s Wheelock Family Theatre.
Jacob is in seventh grade at the Park School in Brookline, Mass.
