"The Grapes of Wrath"
At TheatreZone
April 14-23

Renowned first as a masterpiece of American literature, and then as a prize-winning motion picture, "The Grapes of Wrath's" story of the Joad family and their flight from the Dust Bowl of Oklahoma is an affecting study of the American soul.

"The Grapes of Wrath" is the closing production in TheatreZone's Actor's Revenge festival of actor-selected plays. TheatreZone is located at Chelsea Theatre Works, 189 Winnisimmet Street in Chelsea.

Adapted for the stage by Frank Galati ("Ragtime," "Seussical"), "The Grapes of Wrath" premiered at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, later transferring to London’s West End and Broadway.

In New York it was nominated for eight Tony Awards, winning two for Best Direction and Best Play. The powerful stage version holds to the simplicity and directness of the original novel to convey its timeless message of strength and persistence.
