Elaine Stritch To Appear
At Boston’s Norton Awards

Tony Award-winning actress Elaine Stritch will be the special guest of honor at the 23rd annual Elliot Norton Awards, to be held Monday, May 23, at the Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College.

The awards are named for Boston’s own esteemed drama critic, Elliot Norton, who passed away in May of 2003 at the age of 100. As in past years, Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be WBZ-TV's affable arts and entertainment reporter Joyce Kulhawik.

Ms. Stritch recently appeared at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre in her award-winning one-woman show, “Elaine Stritch At Liberty.” She is currently preparing a new production, to be presented as a cabaret offering in the Fall.She is also scheduled to appear at the Kennedy Center’s 13th Annual Gala in a tribute to the Golden Age of the American musical theater.

Ms. Stritch received the Tony Award for Special Theatrical Event in 2002 and an Emmy Award for Individual Performance in “Elaine Stritch At Liberty,” a chronicle of the making of the show, which aired on HBO.

Ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. and a reception immediately follows on the stage of the Cutler Majestic.
