Classic adventure romance, a Shakespearean masterpiece,
and a Tony Award-winning mystery-musical will anchor Trinity
Rep's 2005-2006 season.
"Every season is about sharing great stories,"
commented acting artistic director Amanda Dehnert,
"but next year, we want to take the audience on a wild ride.
Funny is important. Compelling is important. Most important is sharp,
spontaneous acting that can transport an audience."
The season will include:
“The Mystery of Edwin Drood”
September 9 - October 16 in the Chace Theater
The audience decides "whodunnit" in this musical based on
Dickens' "lost" novel. Detective Dick Datchery
pursues suspects Princess Puffer, Rosa Bud, Reverend Crisparkle and
the rest. Decades before “American Idol,”
“The Mystery of Edwin Drood” put the audience in the driver's
seat to vote on the murderer and choose the ending performed each
night! Winner of five Tony Awards.
“Suddenly Last Summer”
September 30 - November 6
A young man takes his cousin on a European trip that ends in violence.

resident acting company will create a script and performance reflecting
the zeitgeist and celebrating our community. What's the play about?
When it happens, we'll know.
