"Danny and the Deep Blue Sea"
At TheatreZone

An explosive, affecting study of alienation and the redemptive power of love, "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea" will be presented by TheatreZone at the Chelsea Theatre Works from April 1-9.

"Danny and the Deep Blue Sea" is the fourth offering in TheatreZone's Actor's Revenge, a festival of actor-selected plays, and is presented in repertory with "The Zoo Story" by Edward Albee.

"Danny and the Deep Blue Sea" received its professional premiere at Actors Theatre of Louisville in February 1984, and in June 1984, it opened at the Circle in the Square Theatre in New York City with John Turturro winning an Obie award for his performance.

The piece is John Patrick Shanley's first published play. His other works include "Savage in Limbo" and "The Dreamer Examines His Pillow." His film credits include "Congo," "Crossing Delancey," "Joe Versus the Volcano" and "Moonstruck" which earned him an Oscar and the Writers Guild Award for his screenplay.
