Nobody Don’t Like Ben . . . As Yogi Berra

Ben Gazzara stars as New York Yankees baseball legend Yogi Berra in the new play, “Nobody Don’t Like Yogi,” coming to The Wilbur Theatre, March 8 - 13.

Gazzara received a 2004 Drama Desk Award nomination in the category of Outstanding Solo Performance when he returned to the New York Stage as Berra.

This dramatic portrait of one of the most beloved and quotable athletes of our generation celebrates Berra’s humor, loyalty and wisdom as he reflects on an extraordinary career and the great players he’s known.

Gazzara is no stranger to the stage, having triumphed early in his career as the original Brick in “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.” His long list of credits also include “A Hatful of Rain,” “Hugie/Duet” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf,” directed by Edward Albee.

Star of the long running television series, “Run For Your Life,” Gazzara also appeared in such critically acclaimed films as “Husbands,” “Opening Night,” “They All Laughed” and “Anatomy of a Murder.”

Written by Thomas Lysaght and directed by Paul Linke, “Nobody Don’t Like Yogi” is presented on tour by the Stamford Center for the Arts as part of the Broadway in Boston series.
