Shakespeare Now! Hosts Sonnet-Thon

For the third consecutive year, Jonathan Epstein will serve as Master of Ceremonies for Shakespeare Now! Theatre Company's  Boston Shakespeare Sonnet-Thon, to be presented at the Boston Public Library on April 6 at 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Epstein is currently performing the role of Prospero in "The Tempest" with Boston Theatreworks.

Linda Lowy, Founding Artistic Director of Shakespeare Now!, comments, "Epstein is the natural choice as Sonnet-master for this annual marathon reading/performance of the Sonnets. His Sonnet class at Shakespeare & Company is one of the highlights of their training program, and he spends part of every year lecturing and presenting Sonnets across the USA. I first met Epstein while training in Lenox, and was captivated by his complete scholarship and passion for Shakespeare's life and work."

Lowy devised the idea of a Boston event which would involve an entire community coming together to perform and enjoy the sonnets, considered Shakespeare's most personally expressed body of work.

The Third Annual Boston Shakespeare Sonnet-thon will be held in the Rabb Lecture Hall at the Boston Public Library in Copley Square.  Admission is free, and the general public is invited to perform or recite the sonnet of their choice.
