Radio City Music Hall Rockettes
Make Boston Debut At The Wang
• December 2 - 31 •

The countdown continues as the world famous Radio City Music Hall Rockettes pack up their tap shoes and head to town to star in "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular," making its Boston debut at The Wang Theatre for 60 performances from December 2 - 31.

The Christmas Spectacular is exactly that. A cast and crew of nearly 100 will arrive in Boston to deliver a holiday experience designed to make memories. The ultimate in family entertainment, the Rockettes will bring with them dancing bears, flying reindeer, shimmy-ing snowmen, wooden soldiers come to life and enough eye-high kicks to make even Scrooge smile.

The 2004 production includes both traditional favorites as well as all-new elements. In addition to “The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and “The Living Nativity,” both of which have been part of the Christmas Spectacular since 1933, new scenes include “The 12 Days of Christmas,” a sizzling Rockette tap number, and the high-kicking “Christmas in New York.”

Due to popular demand, Radio City Entertainment broadened the holiday theatrical’s schedule in 1994 to encompass markets outside of Manhattan while simultaneously running the New York production.

Since then, "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular" has performed in cities ranging from Atlanta and Chicago to Los Angeles, Seattle, Nashville and Phoenix. In 2003 alone, "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular" entertained more than 2 million people. In its 10 year combined history outside of New York City, the show has played to more than 8 million theatergoers in 17 different cities.

John Bonanni, Executive Producer of "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular" commented, “We realize that not everyone can come to New York for Christmas, so we’ll bring Christmas to you.”

Few people are aware that the dance company first kicked to life in 1925 as the Missouri Rockets, making their debut in St. Louis. In 1933, the Rockets performed at the opening night of New York's Radio City Music Hall (where they were dubbed The Roxyettes) and have called the renowned venue home for more than 70 years.
