You, Too, Can Be Blue

Open Call For Blue Man Group Cast Members

Blue Man Group, Boston’s long-running entertainment phenomenon, is holding an open call for performers on Tuesday, September 28, from Noon to 5 P.M. at The Charles Playhouse, 74 Warrenton Street, in the theater district. Blue Man Group has become an integral part of Boston's vibrant cultural scene, playing to packed and appreciative audiences fifty-two weeks a year.

As Blue Man Group expands with international productions in Berlin and Toronto, its casting department is on a worldwide mission to find performers uniquely qualified to become Blue Men.

As just one example of local actors being cast, Blue Man Eric Rubbe (recently seen in “Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living In Paris”) was discovered at the 2001 Boston Open Call. Soon after graduating from Boston University with a BFA in acting, he joined Blue Man Group’s Boston company.

Blue Man wanna-bes should know that the character of Blue Man is an egoless, genderless being; both male and female performers are encouraged to audition. The basic criteria are:

• Height between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall (athletic build).
• Excellent drumming and acting skills.
• The emotional range to communicate joy, wonder and depth without using
words.
• Willingness to relocate.

For more information, performers may contact Karen Rockower at 212-505-8104 or visit www.bluemancasting.com.
