FleetBoston Celebrity Series
Renamed for Bank of America

Martha H. Jones, President and Executive Director of the Celebrity Series of Boston, Inc., has announced that in honor of Bank of America's ongoing commitment as title sponsor of the Celebrity Series, the Celebrity Series will now be known as Bank of America Celebrity Series.

She commented, "We are proud that Bank of America has chosen to continue its key role in supporting the Celebrity Series as principal title sponsor. We will continue, as we have for the past 65 years, to fulfill our mission of bringing to Boston the top performing artists from around the world, and to making the arts affordable and accessible to all through our arts-in-education program, Project Discovery."

The Bank's title sponsorship role began in 1989 when the Celebrity Series incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation. That fifteen-year partnership continues with Bank of America in 2004-2005 and will continue through 2006.

Bank of America Celebrity Series begins its 66th performance season on September 26, 2004, with a Symphony Hall performance by the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and special guest vocalist Dianne Reeves.

Each year, the Celebrity Series brings to Boston's major concert halls performances by instrumental and vocal soloists, symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, dance companies, jazz and popular music performers, folk and ethnic performance groups, and other performing artists.

Project Discovery, the education and community service program of the Celebrity Series, was founded in 1984. Project Discovery reaches over 20,000 students annually through more than 130 activities each year at 225 Boston area schools and organizations, including AileyCamp Boston, a six-week summer dance program for Boston middle school students.
