Something In The Air" at Merrimack Rep

The only sure thing in life is death -- or is it?  Merrimack Repertory Theatre will attempt to answer that question as it presents Richard Dresser's "Something In The Air"  from March 18 through April 11.  Obie Award winning Director Melia Bensussen directs the twisted comedy noir.

"Guaranteed Investment." How many times has that promise flashed across your inbox? But what if the return was as certain as Death itself?

When Walker bolts into the wrong analyst's office, he finds his salvation in the form of life insurance, not psychotherapy. How hard can it be to help ease the pain of a dying man's last days? Harder than anyone could imagine when the terminally ill patient is as contentious, irritable, and vile as Cram.

Add the love of a possibly good (but probably treacherous) woman, add a dash of assistance from an accommodating (but not really) nurse, and you have the perfect recipe for ruin. Ultimately, love and greed bow low to each other in a seductive dance of comedy and irony.

Buzz Bovshow will be making his MRT debut as Cram. Off-Broadway, Buzz has performed in "The Alchemist"at the Classic Stage Company; "Big Night" at the New York Shakespeare Festival; and “J.P. Morgan Saves the Nation” at En Garde Arts. As Sloane, Deborah LaCoy will also be making her MRT debut . On Broadway, Deborah replaced Amy Madigan as Stella in “A Streetcar Named Desire” opposite Jessica Lange and Alec Baldwin. The cast also includes Jeremiah Wiggins, Richard Snee and Henny Russell.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre is located in Liberty Hall, adjacent to the Lowell Memorial Auditorium, at 50 East Merrimack Street in downtown Lowell. For ticket information, visit the box office or call 978-454-3926.
