Chamber Repertory Theatre
Begins Fall Season

Nationally acclaimed Chamber Repertory Theatre will return to Boston to begin its 26th season with productions of “Encore!” and “Tour De Force.” “Encore!” will be presented on Friday, October 4, at John Hancock Hall. “Tour De Force” will be presented on Monday, October 7, also at John Hancock Hall. Both performances begin at 10:30 a.m.

Chamber Rep brings to life original adaptations of classic literature with uniquely staged dramatic interpretations of classic short stories by renowned authors.

The dramatization of literature for the stage has become a foundation of Chamber Rep. Under the auspices of Boston producer Spring Sirkin, CRT’s national touring companies have performed in 43 states across the country. Featuring period sets, costumes and special effects, CRT produces original adaptations of the works of such writers as O. Henry, Edgar Allen Poe, Mark Twain and Washington Irving, among others.

The five memorable stories dramatized in “Encore!” include: Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Tell Tale Heart,” Guy de Maupassant’s “The Necklace,” Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleep Hollow,” W. W. Jacobs’ “The Monkey’s Paw,” and Twain’s “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County.”

“Tour De Force” includes Poe’s “The Fall of the House of Usher,” Ambrose Bierce’s “An Occurrence at Owl Creek,” Richard Connell’s “The Most Dangerous Game,” H. H. Munro’s “The Mouse” and O. Henry’s “The Ransom of Red Chief.”

Tickets require an advance reservation. For information, call 617-542-9155.
