Zeitgeist Stage Company Presents
"The Credeaux Canvas"

Zeitgeist Stage Company is presenting the New England premiere of "The Credeaux Canvas"at the Boston Center for the Arts from October 3 - 23.

Written by Keith Bunin, "The Credeaux Canvas" originally premiered at prestigious Playwrights Horizons in New York in the spring of 2001. The critically acclaimed work examines the lives of three aspiring artists in Manhattan who conspire to pass off an art forgery.

Jamie is the disinherited son of a respected art dealer who, in an act of inspiration and desperation, convinces his roommate, Winston, to paint his girlfriend, Amelia, in the style of Credeaux. During the creation of the painting, the relationships develop into a complex romantic and sexual triangle that explodes when the wealthy client comes to view the painting.

New York magazine’s John Simon called “The Credeaux Canvas” one of the five best plays of the 2001 New York theater season. Oscar winning Hilary Swank and her husband Chad Lowe starred in the West Coast premiere at LA Theatre Works.

The Boston cast will include Joshua Rollins as Winston, Chris Loftus as Jamie, Renee Miller at Tess and Naeemah White Peppers as Amelia.

Performances are Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 5 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. The BCA is located at 539 Tremont Street in Boston.
