This seven week course meets Mondays evenings with new instructor Angela Brazil. Ms. Brazil is a member of Trinity Repertory Company's resident acting company and has taught at the University of Iowa.

Rhode Island's premiere improvisational troupe, Improv Jones, will be offering a new class called Introduction to Improv. Improv Jones has been in existence since 1992, and has performed throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York City.

Ever watched a play and thought, "I could have written that!" For those who want to try their hand at playwriting, Perishable's Playwriting Workshop is open to interested writers of all levels, age 19 and older. Instructor Rick Massimo teaches the craft of writing interesting drama through the development of the basic building blocks of drama-action, conflict and character. This new course meets Wednesday evenings for six weeks. Rick Massimo is a local playwright whose work has been performed in RI and MA.

Scene Study with instructor Wendy Overly is an intermediate level class geared toward the discovery and development of the imaginative and technical skills essential to character development. The course meets for seven weeks on Tuesday evenings. Ms. Overly currently teaches theatre in the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance at Rhode Island College.

For the more advanced student looking for a performance opportunity, Advanced Scene Study with Showcase is a workshop for the serious acting student or theatre professional experienced in scene work and character exploration. Final scenes will be showcased in a public performance at the end of a six-week intensive rehearsal process. The course meets Mondays with Fred Sullivan, Jr. Mr. Sullivan is a 19 season member of the Trinity Rep resident acting company where he has played more than 50 principal roles, most recently Daddy Warbucks in “Annie”
and Charlie in “Stones in His Pockets.”

For teens age 13-18, Perishable offers Teen Improv with Casey Seymour Kim. This class is designed to sharpen improvisational and acting skills through a variety of theatre games and exercises similar to those used on the TV show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Whether you want to act, meet new people or just feel more comfortable in front of a group, this class provides a great introduction to theater.
