Brian Dennehy Double Bill
At Trinity Rep

Tony Award winning Brian Dennehy will star in a double bill at Trinity Repertory Theatre in Providence this winter -- Eugene O'Neill's "Hughie" along with a one-act play by Sean O'Casey. (The previously announced "Topdog / Underdog" will be seen next season.)

"Hughie" and the O'Casey play will run as a double-bill from February 20 - April 3, 2004. Katherine Steindler will direct. The hour-long two character "Hughie" has previously showcased the talents of such actors as Jason Robards and Al Pacino, with The New York Times praising it as "a full, richly eccentric and satisfying evening of theater."

Tickets will initially be offered to Trinity subscribers. Individual sales will commence in January.

Brian Dennehy has received two Tony Awards for Best Actor over the past four years -- in 2003 for his performance in O'Neill's "Long Day's Journey Into Night" and in 1999 for the 20th anniversary production of Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman" (which played Boston on tour). He mostly recently appeared in Boston in "The Exonerated." Dennehy is currently appearing on Broadway in "Dalton Trumbo," a theatrical portrait of the blacklisted Hollywood writer that has previously featured Nathan Lane, Tim Robbins, Ed Harris and F. Murray Abraham."

In addition to the Dennehy double bill, Trinity Rep's 40th anniversary season continues with O'Neill's "Moon For The Misbegotten;" the new musical revue "Songs of Innocence, Songs of Experience;" Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" in its 27th annual Rhode Island production; a new adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" at Boston's Cutler Majestic Theatre; Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor;" "West Side Story;" and "The Ruby Sunrise."
