“Stones
In His Pockets” Bronson Pinchot Stars Marie Jones’ award winning Broadway and West End comedy “Stones In His Pockets” will open a two week engagement at The Shubert Theatre on December 3. The production will star Bronson Pinchot, who starred on Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's “Putting It Together” with Carol Burnett and at New York’s Shakespeare Festival in “The Winter’s Tale.” As well as appearing in the films “True Romance” and “Beverly Hills Cop,” Pinchot is well known for his long running role as Balky in the television comedy series, “Perfect Strangers.” Directed by Ian McElhinney, "Stones” is set in an Irish village where a Hollywood film is being shot. Pinchot and co-star Tim Ruddy play 15 different characters on the film location, from extras to a spoiled American starlet, to the crew and a variety of locals. Ruddy, a native of County Mayo, has appeared in productions of “Macbeth,” “Sweet Charity” and Juno and the Paycock,” among others. In London, “Stones In His Pocket” won the prestigious Olivier Award as Best Comedy. On Broadway, the play received three Tony nominations along with Special Awards from the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle. Having played for more than 200 performances on Broadway, the play is still running in London’s West End. For information, stop by the Shubert Theatre box office at 265 Tremont Street, or call 800-447-7400. -- OnStageBoston 11/5/02 |
