Commercial Acting Class
At New Rep Studio


New Rep Studio at the New Repertory Theatre is offering a six-week course designed to prepare actors (aspiring and otherwise) to audition for and perform in television commercials and industrial films. The special course will be taught by Thomas Rhett Kee, currently appearing in New Rep's production of "A Skull In Connemara."

Classes will meet at the theatre, 54 Lincoln Street in Newton Highlands, at 7 PM on the following evenings: November 11, 18 & 25 (all Mondays) and December 3, 10 & 17 (all Tuesdays).

The six week seminar will cover:
• Headshots
• Contacting Casting Directors
• Dealing with Agents
• Finding the work
• Auditioning
• Working with commercial copy
• Working with scene partners
• Improvisation
• Relaxation, Focus, & Precision while shooting
• Directors, Ad Agents, Clients, and how to handle direction
• Acting on film Vs video
• Print work and applying your acting training to print modeling
• Developing your craft for the future
• Resources for continued study

Thomas Rhett Kee has performed regionally in "Dial M for Murder" at American Stage Festival and productions at Syracuse Stage and GeVa Theatre in Rochester, among others. He recently finished a summer season of theater that included roles in "Dinner With Friends" at Vineyard Playhouse and "The Dog Problem" at Wellfleet Harbor Actor's Theatre.

Kee received his MFA in Acting from Brandeis University in 1991 and recently finished a three-year visiting professorship at the State University of New York at Oswego.

Tuition for the course is $200, a deposit of $50 is required and space is limited.
